Hyaluronic acid

I didn’t realize that as I aged I would be reminded of my high school chemistry class or maybe it was biology… but in all seriousness it is pretty fascinating thinking about how our body changes over time. When Beautycounter announced that the tinted moisturizer had been improved with more hyaluronic acid I knew I had to learn more. So I dug in and was intrigued when I learned that our skin ages from both internal and external factors and hydration impacts both. “Youthful skin retains its turgor, resilience and pliability, among others, due to its high content of water. Daily external injury, in addition to the normal process of aging, causes loss of moisture. The key molecule involved in skin moisture is hyaluronic acid (HA) that has unique capacity in retaining water.”(you can learn more here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3583886/) Hyaluronic Acid is produced naturally in our bodies but as we age, we produce less. The majority of the acid is found in our skin and its main function is to retain water. So that’s why we now find it in our products. So the goal of the hyaluronic acid is to help your skin retain more moisture and appear more youthful. The nice thing is that, according to WebMD, there are very few side effects and is rarely known to cause allergic reactions.
Beautycounter’s new tinted moisturizer is called Twin Skin and it has a high level of hyaluronic acid that helps plump the skin and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It is weightless and long-wearing and comes in 18 different shades – so there is a shade for everyone. It also helps blur imperfections and evens the complexion. The original tint skin was my very first Beautycounter product and after trying it for the first time I was sold on the company. The revised formula is that much better and I know you’ll love it!
